The US-led invasion of Iraq began on March 20, 2003, with a force of 150,000 US troops, followed in number by British forces as well as Australian and Polish soldiers.
Not convinced that the war was justified, millions of demonstrators in countries around the world took to the streets of their cities to condemn what they believed to be an “unjust and illegitimate” war.
