A government minister has said Kanye Westcold has been banned from entering Australia because of his history of anti-Semitic remarks.

It’s understood the rapper – who now goes by the name Ye – was planning to visit the country to meet the family of his partner, Bianca Sensori, who grew up in Melbourne.

Education Secretary Jason Clare condemned Yi’s “outrageous” anti-Semitic remarks involving Hitler and the Holocaust, saying that others who made similar statements had been refused visas.

“People like those who applied for visas to enter Australia “They’ve been turned down in the past,” Claire said in an interview on Channel Nine. “I would expect that if he did apply he would have to go through the same process and answer the same questions they asked.”

In recent months, Ye has made a file A series of anti-Semitic remarks — including praising Hitler, tweeting an image of a swastika and denying the Holocaust.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton, the immigration minister in a previous government, said on Tuesday he would be tempted to ban Ye but that it was a government decision.

“His anti-Semitic comments are disgraceful and his behaviour, his behavior, is appalling,” he told Radio 3 AOAN.

“He is not a person of good character and the Minister has the power to prevent someone of bad character from coming into our country.”

Peter Wertheim, co-CEO of the Executive Council of Australian Jews, met officials on Tuesday to argue in favor of banning the jukebox.

“We had a sympathetic hearing,” Wertheim said.

“We have made it clear that this particular person does not meet the character test and that it would be in the national interest not to grant them a visa and we have explained our reasons in some detail in that letter.”
