The Mayor of Greater Manchester said Matt Hancock is “better at bushtucker trials than clinical trials”.

Andy Burnham said he’s not thinking Hancock He was a “bad guy” but it was his decision to show up I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! Show “poor judgment”.

Speaking at the BBC’s Q&A about Hancock’s time in the woods, Burnham said: “He’s clearly better at showbiz than at politics… better at Poshtaker experiments than clinical trials for sure.”

He continued, “He’s not a bad person in my eyes, but he’s bad judgment because politicians have to deal with us – what’s good for us.

“But that’s all about me, isn’t it, me, my situation and the cost-of-living crisis for his constituents.

“(There are) things he has to answer for here, not in the woods trying to curry favor with other celebrities and the British public.”

Hancock served as health secretary during most of the coronavirus crisis, during which time the vaccine was developed and tested.

On Thursday, West Suffolk MP avoided elimination for the sixth time, after DJ Chris Moyles was voted off the show.

Moyles, 48, told hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly that he was “upset” that Hancock was more popular with him after his exit from the show.

After his exit, he told McPartlin and Donnelly: “I was frustrated that Matt Hancock is more popular than I am, so what’s going on with the Beagies?”

Moyles admitted it was difficult for him to live with the former health minister in the camp, saying: “I really struggled, to be fair.

Then what I did was, because I messed him up a little bit, I separated Matt Hancock from Matt because we were living with this guy, and he was trying his best to win stars for food and everything and chopping so I had to separate the two of them.

“Matt Hancock I have big problems with Matt – less problems.”
