Goals from Boulay Dia, Famara Didiou and Bamba Dieng give the African champions victory; Muhammed Muntari scores for the hosts.
Senegal achieved its first victory in the World Cup, defeating Qatar 3-1, despite the hosts’ combative performance.
Boulay Dia opened the scoring in the 41st minute, with Famara Didiu adding another three minutes into the second half at Al Thumama Stadium.
Newly presented Mohamed Muntari scored Qatar’s first World Cup goal in the 78th minute with a powerful header, but Bamba Dieng restored the African champions’ two-goal lead just six minutes later.
